Temperature alerts for refrigerated vending machines

Know when cooling starts to fail.

Cooling problems in vending machines rarely appear suddenly. In most cases, temperature begins to drift slowly – long before the machine stops cooling completely.

For operators who have refrigerated vending machines in the fleet, this creates a familiar situation: the machine still works but inside the machine the temperature is already outside the optimal range. And suddenly the issue often becomes visible after customer calls or only during the next route visit.

Vendon Cloud helps operators detect these situations early by tracking machine temperature remotely and alerting them when fluctuations occur.

Cooling issues operators typically discover too late

In day-to-day operations, temperature changes are usually caused by small issues rather than full system failures.

For example:

  • the compressor starts losing efficiency
  • ventilation becomes partially blocked
  • door seals wear out
  • the machine is exposed to strong heat during the day
  • the cabinet door is not properly closed after service

None of these problems stop the machine immediately, but they gradually push the internal temperature outside the normal range — and product quality starts to deteriorate.

Temperature monitoring vending machines with Vendon

Temperature monitoring directly in Vendon Cloud

Vendon offers an optional temperature sensor that connects directly to the Vendon Cloud platform and can be installed inside a refrigerated vending machine or milk fridge for coffee machines.

The sensor continuously measures the internal temperature and sends the data to the cloud system. Operators can set minimum and maximum temperature thresholds and monitor the machine remotely from Vendon Cloud.

If the temperature moves outside the configured range, Vendon Cloud generates an alert so the operator can react immediately.

Instead of relying on manual checks during service visits, operators gain real-time visibility into the cooling conditions of their machines.

Temperature history for quality control

Vendon Cloud also stores temperature data over time, allowing operators to review historical temperature charts.

This makes it easier to:

  • Investigate temperature fluctuations that may signal an upcoming need for maintenance.
  • verify cooling performance after service work
  • monitor how stable machine cooling is throughout the day
  • maintain temperature records for quality control

For machines storing temperature-sensitive products, this data provides an additional level of control and traceability.

Early warning instead of service surprises

Cooling systems rarely fail without warning. In many cases, temperature data shows the first signs of a problem long before the machine stops cooling completely.

Vendon Cloud temperature monitoring gives operators that early signal.

By tracking temperature remotely, setting temperature limits, and receiving alerts when fluctuations occur, operators gain better control over refrigerated machines across their fleet.

It is a simple add-on, but one that provides valuable operational visibility for vending operators managing.
