What excitement to share with you! This year for all of us at Vendon marks with bold. In 2021 we have crossed a major milestone celebrating 10 years of business and a decade full of accomplishments. And wow, what a journey!
What began as a pilot venture with two people in a small country in Central Europe – Latvia, has grown exponentially into a global success story. Today, we have grown into a big Vendon family with more than 35 employees, and our solutions are evaluated in more than 75 countries worldwide.
It all started with the SMS
In 2009, one of our current customers asked: “Could you develop a solution for our vending machine business – an SMS payment solution to purchase products from vending machines?”
After we succeeded in developing an income-boosting solution for the client, it was clear that this has a much bigger and broader potential for this solution in the vending industry – telemetry. So, in 2011, an official Vendon company was established.
“When we started this business, we were pioneers in the industry. There were previous efforts to develop telemetry in the 2000s, but it was too early, too expensive. Furthermore, barely anybody saw added value for this technology. We had to work hard to educate potential customers and convince them that they could work more efficiently with this technology” – Kristians Vebers, CEO of Vendon
And here we are – thanks to all of you!
It has been a long way since 2011. But it all could not be possible without Vendon’s main engine power – our customers who trust us, the talented team, and people who have pushed this industry towards growth and modernization of technology.
